The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, also called the Divine Mercy Chaplet, is a Catholic devotion to the Divine Mercy, based on the Christological apparitions of Jesus Christ reported by Faustina Kowalska, known as "the Apostle of Mercy". She was a Polish religious sister of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy and was canonized as a Catholic saint in 2000 by Pope John Paul II. Kowalska stated that she received this rosary-based prayer directly from Jesus through visions and conversations, who also made specific promises regarding the recitation of the prayer.

  • The Day of Missionary Martyrs

Priests, religious, and lay people are still killed in various parts of the world while serving communities and spreading the Faith. The Day of Missionary Martyrs is an observance to remember these missionaries held on March 24, a date commemorating St. Óscar Romero (see above). Catholics around the world are encouraged to pray, fast, and reflect on the sacrifices of missionaries and persecuted Christians, while renewing their own commitment to live out the mission of spreading the faith through service and love. Pictured is Fr. Donald Martin Ye Naing Win, a 44-year-old priest killed on February 14, 2025 by an unknown militia while serving a village in the Archdiocese of Mandalay in Myanmar

Please support our five seminarians by giving to the 2026 Diocesan Development Drive. Our quota this year is $157,200. There are DDD pledge forms on the table in the back of the church, you can do a one- time gift or make a pledge to support Church and community!

  • Child Safety Tips:

    Social Media Addiction

1.Delay and Discern Platform Use as long as prudently possible.

    2. Use Parental Controls: Enable built-in controls. Set time limits. Disable in-app purchases and restrict app downloads.

3.Clear Family Technology Norms: No devices in bedrooms overnight, during homework, family time, meals, including restaurants. Parents must know all passwords.

4.Teach Digital Literacy: Nothing online is truly private; never share personal images to strangers; images are often manipulated; comparison culture harms mental health.

5.Foster Real-World Anchors: Maintaining a fulfilling real world life - family meals, real friendships, activities, and volunteering - helps protect from social media harm. A strong sense of identity, belonging, and purpose makes kids less likely to seek validation online.

  • Congratulations to Pat Martin

    Congratulations! Pat Martin

Holy Family 2026 Woman of the Year

Pat has been a faithful member of Holy Family for 45 years, generously serving the parish in countless ways. For 15 years, she nurtured young hearts as a Third Grade Religious Education teacher, helping children grow in faith and love for Christ. She has made a lasting impact on our Youth Ministry, leading meaningful service projects such as preparing meals at LANTERN House, organizing food drives for Catholic Community Services, and helping elderly neighbors with home and garden chores. She also guided teens through powerful spiritual experiences, including a 24-hour food fast, sleeping in boxes on the church lawn, and accompanying them to Steubenville conferences in Denver, San Diego, and San Francisco. Pat is also Active in the Council of Catholic Women and volunteers her time with the Altar Society.

Beyond the parish, Pat ministers weekly to 10–20 youth at the Juvenile Justice Center in Ogden and Millcreek Juvenile Detention Center, sharing God’s mercy and hope. She serves as Treasurer of the Council of Catholic Women and, together with her family, volunteers at Sunday coffee service. Pat’s compassion, faith, and joyful dedication continue to enrich Holy Family Parish.

  • HAPPINESS

Apps to Help Make your Lent More Meaningful!

FORMED: The Catholic Faith “on-demand” with thousands of resources, including video studies, documentaries, movies, audiotalks, and children’s programming. Free for Catholics in the Diocese of Salt Lake City.

iBreviary: Highly recommended by Fr. Joseph! Simple and to the point. Priests and religious pray the Liturgy of the Hours every day. Add one of them (e.g., Office of Readings, Morning Prayer, etc.) to your daily routine. This is a classic choice for keeping a disciplined prayer life throughout Lent.

Laudate: A free, comprehensive app with daily Mass readings, Stations of the Cross, Rosary, prayers, multiple Bible versions, catechism, and more.

Hallow: Highly recommend by Mark Wahlberg, Liam Neeson and John Roumie. Stay prayed up!

Amen: Amen is the free Catholic app that brings you beautiful prayers, faithful meditations and nourishing Scripture to draw your mind, body and soul to rest in God.
